Ruben Tejada did make it to New York after all to work out with former teammate Jose Reyes, who trains during the offseason in a Garden City, Long Island, facility.

Reyes posted a photograph on Instagram on Friday of the duo working out. Tejada had just arrived from Panama.

Reyes wrote: "Con mi hermanito #ruben Tejada trabajando"

Translation: With my little brother Ruben Tejada, working.

Tejada originally planned to train with Reyes earlier in the offseason, after a World Baseball Classic qualifier, but his agents said Tejada's intended living arrangements were damaged in Hurricane Sandy and the trip was scrubbed at that point.

Reyes has maintained his offseason home on Long Island.

Tejada is already expected to report to Port St. Lucie sometime next week. That should make manager Terry Collins happy. Collins expressed disappointment Tejada, who arrived on time last year, did not report earlier.
