PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Jenrry Mejia, who arrived at Mets camp on Friday after his visa issue was resolved, is jumping right into Grapefruit League action.

Mejia will throw a side session on Saturday, then is scheduled to start Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the St. Louis Cardinals at Tradition Field.

Mejia threw 1 2/3 innings in a game at the Mets' Dominican Republic complex while awaiting the visa resolution.

He will work as a starting pitcher in 2013 ... at least to open the season.
