PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Tuesday's day off did not include a respite for Zack Wheeler.

Wheeler threw a baseball on flat ground for the first time since being scratched with a right oblique strain last Wednesday.

The top prospect is expected to repeat the flat-ground throwing today before advancing to a mound.
