JUPITER, Fla. -- Zack Wheeler came through a session throwing live batting practice without issue as he ramps up following a right oblique strain.

Wheeler threw 27 pitches, including a pair of pitch outs. The batters included ex-Cub Corey Patterson.

"It felt good, but my timing was off a little bit and stuff like that, so a lot of my pitches weren't crisp," Wheeler said at the Mets' complex in Port St. Lucie. "... I've only thrown two innings in a game to live batters. It's kind of different once they get up there. It's something that will come around."
