LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Daniel Murphy, who is returning from a strained intercostal muscle on his right side, offered a positive review of his first minor league action. Murphy took batting practice before the game, but did not hit in-game. He did man second base for five innings and pinch-run for Shaun Marcum.

“It felt good,” Murphy said in Port St. Lucie. “It was good to get out there. I really appreciate the minor league guys, the coaching staff letting me come out there. It took a little while to get my legs underneath me, but I felt better at the end than I did at the beginning.

“We’ll see how it feels tomorrow and evaluate it."
