Mets farmhand Montgomery suspended

lastname Montgomery Mets minor league right-hander Christian Montgomery has been suspended 50 games for a second violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program's policy regarding a "drug of abuse," MLB announced.

Because Montgomery is on the roster of short-season Kingsport, his suspension will not begin until the K-Mets season commences June 20.

Montgomery, 20, went 0-1 with a 9.39 ERA in two starts for Kingsport last season. He was drafted in the 11th round in 2011 out of high school in Indianapolis.
