MIAMI -- Terry Collins said backup catcher Anthony Recker was next in line to pitch if Monday's game had gone to the 16th inning.

Recker had limited pitching experience at Alvernia University in Pennsylvania.

Recker appears to have logged four innings in college. He tossed one scoreless inning in 2004. In '03, he allowed one unearned run in an inning. In two appearances as a freshman the previous year, he surrendered seven earned runs in two innings.
