MIAMI -- Matt Harvey will pitch on his regular fifth day, Friday against the Miami Marlins at Citi Field, Terry Collins said.

The plan is to have Jonathon Niese, who missed his turn in the rotation yesterday, return Saturday. Of course, the prerequisite is that Niese gets through a bullpen session Tuesday in D.C. without issue. Niese missed a start with shoulder tendinitis.

The Mets have an off-day Monday. Had they kept the rotation in order, Niese would have pitched Friday, with Harvey going on an extra day of rest Saturday.
