NEW YORK -- After Mets relievers logged seven innings in Monday's 13-inning win against the Arizona Diamondbacks, reliever Gonzalez Germen will be promoted from Triple-A Las Vegas.

The Mets will announce the corresponding move before Tuesday's game.

Gonzalez and Robert Carson were the lone eligible choices on the 40-man roster with the 51s. Greg Burke must remain in the minors for 10 days after his June 25 demotion unless a player is landing on the DL -- which apparently is not the case.

Germen, a 25-year-old right-hander from the Dominican Republic, is 3-3 with a 5.70 ERA in 34 Pacific Coast League relief appearances this season. In 42 2/3 innings, he has allowed 47 hits and 10 walks while striking out 48.
Adam Rubin has covered the Mets since 2003. He's a graduate of Mepham High School on Long Island and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He joined ESPNNewYork after spending 10 years at the New York Daily News.
