MILWAUKEE -- Ruben Tejada officially is a minor leaguer.

Rather than keep Tejada on a rehab assignment accruing major league service time and pay, the Mets have deemed Tejada healthy, activated him from the DL and officially optioned him to Triple-A Las Vegas, where he already had been played since Tuesday.

Tejada had been in danger of a demotion before landing on the DL on May 30 with a right quadriceps strain.
