PITTSBURGH -- The Mets will not face All-Star left-hander Jeff Locke in Sunday's first-half finale at PNC Park.

Locke (8-2, 2.15 ERA) has been scratched with lower back tightness. He will attend the All-Star Game but not appear, meaning the National League can add another starting pitcher.

Instead, the Mets face rookie right-hander Gerrit Cole on Sunday. Cole, the top overall pick in the 2011 draft, is 4-2 with a 3.68 ERA through six major league starts.
