RICHMOND 9, BINGHAMTON 3: Angel Cuan allowed three runs in six innings in his Double-A debut as the B-Mets had a four-game winning streak snapped. Justin Turner started at shortstop and went 1-for-3 with a walk and run scored in his second rehab game with the B-Mets (59-35). Javier Herrera opened the game with a double against Cuan and scored two batters later on a sacrifice fly from Mark Minicozzi. Richmond added to that lead in the third inning when Minicozzi produced an RBI single. Andrew Susac added an RBI double. On the play, Minicozzi was thrown out at the plate for the final out of the inning, but Richmond took a 3-0 lead into the fourth. Facing Richmond starter Chris Gloor, Cesar Puello smoked an RBI single down the left-field line in the fourth to plate Turner. The B-Mets would later load the bases in the inning, but couldn’t push any more runs across. Cuan settled in and finished his outing with three consecutive scoreless innings. The lefty departed after six innings, trailing 3-1. Reliever Chase Huchingson allowed the Squirrels to bat around in the seventh. After a bunt single, Huchingson walked Gloor to put runners on first and second. He retired the next two batters before Minicozzi reached on second baseman Danny Muno's error. That set the stage for a grand slam by Angel Villalona, which gave Richmond a 7-1 advantage. The B-Mets began a comeback effort in the bottom half, when Blake Forsythe hit a two-run homer. But that was the final hit they produced. Cuan (0-1) suffered the loss in his Double-A debut. Box
