FIRST PITCH: Deep-sea fishing hasn't gone well for Matt Harvey this season.

The Marlins continued to give Harvey fits as they defeated him 3-0 on Thursday. Harvey is winless in four starts against the Marlins this year, and the Mets are now 5-10 on the season against the NL East cellar-dwellers after splitting a four-game set.

Friday, the Mets open a three-game set at home against the red-hot Royals, winners of eight straight.

Friday's news reports:

• Read game recaps in the Daily News, Post, Star-Ledger, The Record, Newsday and New York Times.

• Terry Collins said he trusts that David Wright isn't concealing a major hamstring injury and playing when he shouldn't be. Wright grabbed his hamstring several times Wednesday night on the basepaths.

Bobby Parnell has a stiff neck and did not pitch on Thursday. He has not pitched in the last two games. Read more in The Record.

Jon Niese threw four scoreless innings in a rehab start Friday. Niese has said he would need at least one more rehab start before returning.

• The Mets have scored 15 runs in their last seven games. First baseman Ike Davis is struggling once again at the plate. Read more in the Post, Star-Ledger and Newsday.

• Collins won't regularly use his starters in relief, like he did with Carlos Torres on Wednesday, with the team using a six-man rotation.

BIRTHDAYS: Former Mets reliever Dae-Sung Koo turns 44. Koo pitched in 33 games in 2005 for the Mets, pitching to a 3.91 ERA.

TWEET OF THE DAY: YOU'RE UP: Why have the Marlins given Harvey such problems this year?
