NEW YORK -- Asked if the Mets planned to release Jordany Valdespin before he appeared in a Mets uniform again, Sandy Alderson was noncommittal.

Valdespin accepted a 50-game suspension Monday as part of the Biogenesis penalties handed down by Major League Baseball.

"I don't think we've even thought about that issue at this point," Alderson said. "He's suspended for 50 games, as is Cesar Puello. At some point between now and the end of that suspension, we'll have those conversations. But we certainly haven't considered that at this point."
