NEW YORK -- Tyler Chatwood, who had been scheduled to face the Mets in Thursday's series finale, has been scratched for the second time in the series.

Chatwood experienced right elbow inflammation during a bullpen session Tuesday. He originally had been pushed back two days from the series opener because of a hamstring issue.

The Rockies did not immediately announce a replacement. One option may be to use Jorge De La Rosa on regular rest. Jeff Francis, who just returned to the majors, has not worked as a starting pitcher since mid-July and is not stretched out, but conceivably could be an alternative.
Adam Rubin has covered the Mets since 2003. He's a graduate of Mepham High School on Long Island and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He joined ESPNNewYork after spending 10 years at the New York Daily News.
