Mets acquire Herrera in trade with Bucs

NEW YORK -- The Mets have acquired Class A infielder Dilson Herrera and a player to be named from the Pittsburgh Pirates for John Buck, Marlon Byrd and cash.

Herrera, a 19-year-old second baseman from Colombia, was hitting .265 with 11 homers and 56 RBIs in 423 at-bats with West Virginia in the South Atlantic League. He represented the Pirates in the Futures Game at Citi Field.
