Adam RubinDavid Wright aggressively ran the bases early Saturday afternoon at Citi Field as he works back from a right hamstring strain. He then faced pitching from coach Ricky Bones, who last threw a major league pitch in 2001. The Mets are eyeing a return in the middle of next week for Wright. Bones, for the record, took the mound as "Enter Sandman" blared over the stadium's speakers.
Adam Rubin has covered the Mets since 2003. He's a graduate of Mepham High School on Long Island and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He joined ESPNNewYork after spending 10 years at the New York Daily News.
