NEW YORK -- Daisuke Matsuzaka may have a little left in the tank.

Matsuzaka limited the Miami Marlins to two hits in seven innings and the Mets split a doubleheader with a 3-1 victory in Saturday’s nightcap at Citi Field.

Daniel Murphy and Lucas Duda produced back-to-back third-inning homers against right-hander Jacob Turner to give the Mets a three-run cushion. It marked only the third time this season Mets teammates consecutively went deep. (The last instance: Marlon Byrd and Ike Davis on Aug. 16 against the San Diego Padres at Petco Park.)

Matsuzaka did not allow a hit until Justin Ruggiano produced a solo homer with one out in the fourth.

Dice-K faced runners on the corners with two outs in the seventh, but struck out Rob Brantly looking with a 78 mph slider to preserve a 3-1 lead and end his outing.

After producing a 10.95 ERA in his first three starts with the Mets, Matsuzaka has now limited the Cleveland Indians and Marlins to a combined two runs and five hits in 12 2/3 innings.

What’s next: Dillon Gee (11-10, 3.61 ERA) opposes right-hander Tom Koehler, a Stony Brook University product, at 1:10 p.m. Sunday. The Mets are 7-11 against the Marlins this season entering their final 2013 meeting.
