PHILADELPHIA -- The Mets officially activated David Wright from the disabled list Friday in anticipation of him returning to the lineup in the series opener against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Wright last played in a major league game Aug. 2, when he suffered a Grade 2 strain of his right hamstring.

• There will be 49 prospects attending the fall instructional league, which opens Tuesday and runs through Oct. 4. The invites include the past three first-round picks: first baseman Dominic Smith (2013), shortstop Gavin Cecchini (2012) and outfielder Brandon Nimmo (2011).
Adam Rubin has covered the Mets since 2003. He's a graduate of Mepham High School on Long Island and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He joined ESPNNewYork after spending 10 years at the New York Daily News.
