Zack Wheeler did see a doctor after complaining of shoulder stiffness last week, Sandy Alderson indicated.

The exam came at the stadium from the doctor on duty, not via a special trip to the Hospital for Special Surgery.

The Mets were satisfied Wheeler does not have an injury, so the rookie was not sent for an MRI. Wheeler has, though, been shut down for the season.

He originally was scheduled to pitch on Monday night in Cincinnati. Aaron Harang moves up a day to take the series opener.
