Although there is mutual interest in LaTroy Hawkins returning in 2014, the reliever has resolved to test free agency, Newsday reports.

That's no great surprise, since Hawkins is likely due for a healthy raise after earning $1 million this season.

Free agents can start soliciting bids from all 30 teams five days after the World Series.

Hawkins, who turns 41 on Dec. 21, had a 2.93 ERA in 72 relief appearances. He converted 13 saves after Bobby Parnell's herniated disk forced the closer to miss the final two months of the season.
