Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Francisco Liriano won the NL Comeback Player of the Year award, beating out finalists Jorge De La Rosa, Chase Utley and Jayson Werth.

Ex-Met Marlon Byrd was not among the candidates, since only one player per team is judged and Liriano was the Pirates' candidate.

The official MLB award is voted on by MLB.com beat writers.

In the separate player-sponsored award, Byrd was a finalist. Liriano also received that honor.
