LaTroy Hawkins has departed the Mets. The reliever has signed a one-year, $2.5 million deal to close for the Colorado Rockies, USA Today reports.

Hawkins, who turns 41 next month, went 3-2 with a 2.93 ERA in 72 appearances for the Mets this past season. He also converted 13 saves after Bobby Parnell was lost for the season with a herniated disk in his neck.

Hawkins earned $1 million in 2013 with the Mets.

Adam Rubin has covered the Mets since 2003. He's a graduate of Mepham High School on Long Island and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He joined ESPNNewYork after spending 10 years at the New York Daily News.
