Strikeout machine Jack Leatherisch, a lefty reliever, also has been invited to big-league camp.

Leathersich, a fifth-round pick in 2011 out of UMass-Lowell, has struck out 241 of 625 batters he has faced over three seasons.

He had a 1.53 ERA and three saves with Double-A Binghamton last season, but struggled with control after a late call-up to Triple-A Las Vegas -- walking 29 in 29 innings while producing a 7.76 ERA.

Leathersich joins Cory Vaughn, Danny Muno, Noah Syndergaard and Rafael Montero among the prospects invited to camp who are not on the 40-man roster.

Non-roster free-agent signings Anthony Seratelli, Taylor Teagarden, Miguel Socolovich, Joel Carreno and Brandon Allen also should be in camp.
Adam Rubin has covered the Mets since 2003. He's a graduate of Mepham High School on Long Island and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He joined ESPNNewYork after spending 10 years at the New York Daily News.
