Murph, Mets settle for $5.7M plus bonus

Daniel Murphy and the Mets have settled on a contract for 2014 at $5.7 million. Murphy also will have the opportunity to earn a $50,000 bonus with 500 plate appearances.

Murphy earned $2.925 million last season.

He has one more arbitration year before becoming eligible for free agency after the 2015 season.

The lone arbitration cases not yet resolved are with Dillon Gee and Lucas Duda.
