Sandy Alderson's latest one-liner poked fun at the Yankees signing Japanese pitcher Masahiro Tanaka for $155 million (plus the $20 million posting fee), while the Mets brought back Daisuke Matsuzaka on a minor-league deal.

“We each signed Japanese pitchers this week,” Alderson said at Saturday night's Baseball Writers' Association of America dinner at the New York Hilton, according to reports. “They're paying $155 million, and we’re paying our guy month to month.”
