Niese scratched from 1st Grapefruit start

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Jonathon Niese, who was dispatched to New York for an MRI of his left shoulder, has been scratched from his first scheduled Grapefruit League start, Tuesday against the Houston Astros at Tradition Field. Zack Wheeler instead will make that start.

Niese arrived in New York on Wednesday and underwent the MRI. The reading should be completed by noon Thursday.
