PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Eric Young Jr. plans to do a full day's worth of baseball activities, including facing Bobby Parnell in batting practice, as the outfielder returns from a side-muscle issue.

EY Jr., Terry Collins' preferred leadoff hitter, should appear in a Grapefruit League game within days.

Parnell will be throwing batting practice for the first time since undergoing herniated disk surgery late last season.

Meanwhile, Jonathon Niese (shoulder) and Bartolo Colon (calf) tossed a baseball to each other Saturday morning.
