MONTREAL -- Terry Collins confirmed Friday that Omar Quintanilla would make the team as the backup shortstop over Anthony Seratelli.

Collins said Seratelli could be valuable as a switch-hitter who could man multiple positions. However, the 31-year-old Seratelli struggled at shortstop during Grapefruit League play while batting .213 in 47 at-bats.
