Police source: K-Rod in custody

Closer Francisco Rodriguez was taken into custody by the NYPD after Wednesday night's game after an incident with his father-in-law at Citi Field, according to a police source. The police source said the father-in-law suffered an abrasion to the face. Jeremy Schaap reports K-Rod will be charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor.

The Mets issued the following statement:

"There was an incident between Francisco Rodriguez and his family tonight at the ballpark. He was questioned by police and all other questions pertaining to this incident will be referred to the police department."
