NEW YORK -- Kyle Farnsworth will be added to the big-league club on Wednesday to replace injured Bobby Parnell.

Farnsworth had been released by the Mets on March 23 and re-signed days later. He had been slated to open the season with Triple-A Las Vegas.

The Mets will need to shed one player from the 40-man roster to add Farnsworth.
