Chris Young off to Vegas for rehab work

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Outfielder Chris Young is headed to Triple-A Las Vegas for a rehab assignment after playing for a second straight day in extended spring training.

Young, on the disabled list with a right quadriceps strain, went 2-for-5 Friday in Florida.

He is eligible to be activated from the disabled list next Friday.

Young signed a one-year, $7.25 million contract with the Mets on Nov. 26.
