The Mets will attempt to win two games in a row on Friday night for the first time since June 22-23 against the Detroit Tigers. And that's as long a drought as it seems.
The Elias Sports Bureau reports that the Mets' 43-game drought without back-to-back wins is the longest streak in the majors this season. It's also the longest single-season streak by any team since the San Diego Padres went 47 straight games without winning two in a row in 2003.
As for franchise history, it's the second-longest drought for hte Mets. They went 64 games without winning two straight in 1993.
