PHILADELPHIA -- Assuming there are no setbacks beforehand, the Mets plan to activate Juan Lagares from the disabled list on Thursday, for the series opener against the Colorado Rockies at spacious Coors Field.

Terry Collins said he expects to rotate four outfielders -- Curtis Granderson, Chris Young, Eric Young Jr. and Lagares -- once Lagares joins the club. The manager, still mulling over the exact details, expects to meet with his outfielders in Denver to explain his intention. Suffice it to say, though, Collins does not expect any particular outfielder to sit back-to-back days.

"They're all good, and we can only play three of them. That's the general message," Collins said. "The only message you can say is, 'Listen, only three of you can play. So somebody is going to have some nights off. Each and every one of you are going to get some nights off.' There's no other way to really phrase it."

Collins did note that the Mets will have the use of a DH for two games in two weeks in the Bronx.

Lagares is eligible to be activated from the disabled list on Wednesday, when the Mets conclude a two-game series in Philly. He originally suffered a pulled right hamstring on April 14 at Arizona.

Lagares played in rehab games with Class A St. Lucie on Sunday and Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday. He is scheduled for a day off Tuesday, then again will play with the Pacific Coast League club on Wednesday before joining the Mets in Denver.
