DENVER -- Mets prospect Jared King's girlfriend Maggie Watson got quite the surprise before Saturday's low-A Savannah game against the Rome Braves.

After she threw out the ceremonial first pitch, King surprised her by proposing on the field.

She said yes, according to Sand Gnats officials.

King, 22, was selected in the fifth round last year out of Kansas State.

Savannah went on to beat Rome, 12-2. King went 0-for-4 with a run scored and walk while batting cleanup.
