MIAMI -- Terry Collins did not have Carlos Torres available for Monday's series opener against the Miami Marlins. Collins said Tuesday afternoon he was unsure of Torres' availability for Game 2, too.

The heavily used Torres has an upper lat muscle issue, according to Collins.

"You can call it a cramp, whatever it is, but it was bothering him," Collins said. "And, as you know, you've got to be careful with that stuff."

Torres has appeared in 16 of the Mets' first 31 games -- five times for multiple innings. He is on pace for 84 appearances this season.
