John Lannan has rejoined the organization.
NEW YORK -- John Lannan, who accepted an assignment to Triple-A Las Vegas but never reported after being dumped by the Mets on April 16, has rejoined the organization.
The team announced the 29-year-old southpaw has reported to Port St. Lucie, Fla., on Monday to get back into pitching shape.
He last appeared in a game April 13 at Anaheim, when he was charged with three runs in one inning against the Los Angeles Angels.
The Mets did not specify the reason for Lannan's seven-week absence beyond describing it as a personal and family matter.
Lannan made the club out of spring training as a reliever, despite viewing himself as a starter. He allowed seven runs in four innings spanning five appearances with the Mets.
