NEW YORK -- Barring a setback, Terry Collins expects Eric Young Jr. will return from the disabled list for Monday's series opener against the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium.

Young has been on the DL with a right hamstring strain since May 25.

After playing in his first rehab game Thursday with Class A St. Lucie, Young has moved to Double-A Binghamton for the weekend.

Also among players on the DL, Dillon Gee (strained lat muscle) told the St. Lucie News Tribune he now expects to get on a mound for the first time since suffering the injury on Monday in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
Adam Rubin has covered the Mets since 2003. He's a graduate of Mepham High School on Long Island and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He joined ESPNNewYork after spending 10 years at the New York Daily News.
