ST. LOUIS -- The Mets tentatively plan to promote Travis d'Arnaud to the major league club during next week's June 24-25 series against the Oakland Athletics at Citi Field, an organization source told ESPNNewYork.com.
D'Arnaud enters Wednesday's Triple-A Las Vegas game hitting .395 with five homers and 10 RBIs in 38 at-bats since a June 7 demotion.
By keeping d'Arnaud in the minors less than 20 days, d'Arnaud's option will be rescinded -- meaning he will retain the option to be used during the 2015 season or beyond, if the club desires to demote him again.
D'Arnaud was hitting .180 with three homers and nine RBIs in 128 at-bats when he was dispatched to Las Vegas.
