NEW YORK -- The Mets will have two representatives in the July 13 Futures Game at Target Field in Minnesota.
Syndergaard Right-hander Noah Syndergaard and catcher Kevin Plawecki have been selected for the U.S. squad in the prospect showcase.
Syndergaard, 21, started last year's Futures Game at Citi Field and tossed a scoreless inning. He is having an uneven year at Triple-A Las Vegas, which has included DL trips for forearm and left shoulder issues. Syndergaard is 6-4 with a 4.98 ERA in 13 Pacific Coast League starts.
Plawecki, a supplemental first-round pick out of Purdue two years ago, is hitting .326 with six homers and 43 RBIs in 224 at-bats at Double-A Binghamton. He is due to be promoted any day to Triple-A.
