Mets plan July 4 fireworks extravaganza

PITTSBURGH -- The visiting Rangers may be a big dud this season, but the Mets nonetheless are planning a big fireworks show for the Fourth of July at Citi Field. Here's the team announcement:

Patriotic songs will be this year’s theme for the Mets annual July 4th Fireworks show which will follow the Mets and Rangers 7:10 p.m. game this Friday. The fireworks will be launched from Citi Field’s roof and the center field grass providing a 360 degree feel for fans throughout the park. Special discounted tickets are available for Military (current/former), Police, Fire, EMS and Government Employees. Tickets to the Friday, July 4 game start at $17 and are available on Mets.com or by phone at 718-507-TIXX.
