PITTSBURGH -- Juan Lagares is a modest 2-for-9 since returning from the disabled list for the series opener against the Pittsburgh Pirates. And Terry Collins suggested the center fielder appears rusty.

Lagares played in four rehab games after dealing with a strained intercostal muscle on his right side.

Lagares had only 16 at-bats in the minors while gearing back up, which was split between the Gulf Coast League and Double-A Binghamton.

"There's no way to determine what the right number is," Collins said. "Everybody is different. But he's going to be in there."
