NEW YORK -- Daisuke Matsuzaka was due to throw off a mound Monday at Citi Field for the first time since going on the disabled list on July 25 with elbow inflammation.

Matsuzaka is expected to travel to Port St. Lucie, Fla., and continue his rehab at the Mets' complex there beginning Tuesday.

He is eligible to return from the disabled list Saturday, although it's not yet clear if the Mets will activate him that quickly.
