Johan Santana enters Saturday having tossed three straight complete games, the first Mets pitcher to do so since David Cone in 1990. The only to throw four in a row? That would be Dwight Gooden in 1988.

Of course, the last two complete games, Santana has lost -- at Houston and Pittsburgh.

The last Met to lose three straight starts that were complete games? There hasn't been one. Jerry Koosman in 1977 was the last Met to lose back-to-back complete games.

Santana is tied with Seattle's Felix Hernandez for the most strikeouts in the majors in August with 43. The Mets left-hander has 15 starts this season in which he has allowed one run or fewer, which leads the majors.

Here's the lineup behind Santana:

Angel Pagan, LF
Luis Castillo, 2B
Carlos Beltran, CF
David Wright, 3B
Ike Davis, 1B
Jeff Francoeur, RF
Henry Blanco, C
Ruben Tejada, SS
Johan Santana, LHP
