NEW YORK -- Making his third rehab start, Daisuke Matsuzaka tossed five scoreless innings for the Brooklyn Cyclones in a 2-0 win against the Staten Island Yankees on Thursday night.

Matsuzaka allowed two hits and a walk as the Baby Bombers loaded the bases in the first inning, but Dice-K escaped by consecutively striking out Connor Spencer and Luis Torrens.

Matsuzaka did not allow any hits after the first inning. He ultimately struck out seven and walked two.

Matsuzaka would appear ready to be activated from the DL as soon as Tuesday, when the Mets return home from the West Coast.
