While the Mets wait to add a starter, they are hoping that Chris Young can be their answer.
"It could be a nice fit," Mets assistant GM J.P. Ricciardi said via phone.
There is strong interest from both sides and Young figures to decide very soon. He fits the Mets' mold as he is smart and relatively cheap. Young went to Princeton, but, after making the All-Star team in 2007, Young has had a series of injuries and only made three starts last year.
Young figures to sign soon since the season is only a month away.
