Bobby Parnell, who revealed Tuesday he was dealing with numbness in his right middle finger, will continue to undergo tests Thursday. But Parnell's issue, perhaps clotting, may be treatable with aspirin.

Parnell will be placed on the DL. Officially, the injury is listed as a circulatory problem of the middle finger.

The Mets will have 24 available players until activating Jason Bay on Thursday.

Terry Collins indicated he wanted Bay four days ago, but needed to be politically correct and following protocol.

Jason Isringhausen will handle the primary set-up duties to Francisco Rodriguez.

In other DL news, Chris Young (biceps tendinitis) plans to resume throwing and will test his arm/shoulder with a simulated game Thursday. Dillon Gee gets at least one more start in Young's absence. Young's simulated game happens to fall on the day of Chris Capuano's start against the Astros, for what that's worth.
