Hanley Ramirez on Reyes recruitment

By Adam Rubin

Marlins shortstop Hanley Ramirez -- at least shortstop unless Jose Reyes comes on board -- spoke with South Florida reporters on Thursday evening. With respect to Reyes, here's what Ramirez said, via MLB.com: "Definitely, we want to win, and it would be a good move for the Marlins (to get Reyes) because we're trying to improve our offense and he's a pretty good player. ... He's got a lot of energy at the top of the lineup. He would help any team."

Ramirez previously had told the Miami Herald he would move positions to allow the Marlins to sign Reyes. Asked about that Thursday, Ramirez said: "I'm a shortstop right now, so I don't know. I consider myself a shortstop."
