Davis breathing easy after lung issue
By Adam Rubin
Ike Davis returned to camp Thursday after visiting Mets doctors in New York and said his absence was caused by a "little" lung infection that was detected on his spring-training physical. Davis said he never had symptoms. He does not need any medication, and has been cleared to resume activities.
"I don't feel any side effects," he said. "It's going to go away eventually."
Davis wasn't sure which test detected the issue, but camp physicals include a chest X-ray and bloodwork.
He was informed Friday of the infection, and went as planned on a weekend fishing trip to Key West, Fla., with Josh Satin and Sean Ratliff before heading to New York.
