Ike to play through slump
By Adam Rubin
Terry Collins, who sat Ike Davis against left-hander Drew Pomeranz on Friday night, plans to have the slumping first baseman start the remainder of the trip. That's the case even though the Mets see three southpaws over the final four days of the trip -- Jamie Moyer on Sunday in Denver, then J.A. Happ and Wandy Rodriguez during a three-game series in Houston.
Davis is hitting .132 with three homers and seven RBIs, and Collins suggested the only way to break out is to play.
"Not playing him is not helping him," Collins said.
